We were thrilled to be involved with the Ms. Senior Davidson County pageant recently! Mitzi Hayden, our home care director, served as an auditor (tallying scores), and we were also able to share information about retirement living and the advantages of home care. Even better, Mitzi caught up with Jeannette Wilkie, who was the 2001-02 winner and was also a longtime nurse at Piedmont Crossing. Jeannette was a mentor to Mitzi when she first started, and her guidance was invaluable. What a healthcare legacy! And many thanks to Memorial United Methodist Church - Thomasville, NC for hosting! #piedmontcrossing Davidson County, NC - Government #seniorwomen #WisdomandBeauty #thomasvillenc #MentorshipMatters #homecare ... Our Pavilion residents look forward to Cooking With Daphne, an activity that Daphne Jenkins, the activity coordinator, hosts each week! This time, she taught them about the history of brownies – and baked a pan for them to sample. As you can see from the smiles, the chocolatey treats were a success! Daphne has been a welcome fixture at Piedmont Crossing for 30 years now. She first started in 1987 and, except for a few years away, has been with us ever since! #piedmontcrossing #retirementliving #cookingclass #brownielovers #thomasvillenc ... See MoreSee Less

Listen to this beautiful music played by resident Marcia Williams! Marcia's career was as a kindergarten teacher – she also owned Williams Florist in High Point with her husband – but the self-taught pianist has greatly magnified her hobby since coming to Piedmont Crossing. She plays regularly for our church services and brings lots of joy to other residents. Fun fact: Marcia was determined to live near Kids Only - Childcare and Daycare in Thomasville, NC (our on-campus pre-K program), so she could continue to enjoy children in retirement. She's proof positive that creativity and growth only increase as you add years to life! #piedmontcrossing #seniorliving #retirementcommunity #pianomusic #shareyourpassion ... See MoreSee Less
