It's been a hot, dry summer in recent weeks, but that hasn't stopped resident Tommy Leonard from getting a nice yield of potatoes. He dug these up from the community garden recently, and although we have no word on how he prepared them, we can guarantee that the homegrown ones tasted great! 🥔 #piedmontcrossing #seniorliving #retirementcommunity #gardenlife #thomasvillenc #growyourown ... National Therapeutic Recreation Week wraps up today! The observance is intended to raise awareness of therapeutic recreation programs and services that could improve the health and well-being of individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. In practice, recreational therapists treat and help maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their clients by seeking to reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively. Many thanks to our EveryAge recreation therapists, who carry out these tasks with dedication and excellence! #recreationtherapy #NationalTherapeuticRecreationWeek #EveryAge ... See MoreSee Less

It's a special move-in anniversary for two of our residents! Robert and Billie Doris Barrett (pictured) have both been living at Piedmont Crossing for 25 years – but not as you might first expect! In June of 1999, Robert moved to Piedmont with his wife, Norma. Less than two weeks later, in July of 1999, Billie Doris came to the community. Sadly, after 52 years of marriage to Robert, Norma passed away, and in due time, Robert and Billie Doris forged a new connection and married in October of 2009. (The two had first met in Piedmont Crossing's choir, where Billie Doris served as the pianist.) Although not every resident can count on a new marriage at Piedmont, it's absolutely certain that everyone can cultivate deep friendships, enjoy lots of companionship, and delight in a life lived to the fullest! #piedmontcrossing #retirementcommunity #seniorliving #SecondChanceLove #NeverTooLate ...
