American Labor: A History

• Tuesday, September 3 at 2 pm
• Unity Place, Piedmont Crossing Campus
• 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360

From the beginning of the American experience, labor has been a key factor in the establishment and growth of our nation. Labor includes every worker in every job and their contributions in times of peace and war.

This year marks the 130th Labor Day in the United States. Join us for an interesting presentation that will provide a broad overview of the history of labor from the Colonial era to today. We will honor American workers and highlight their contributions to the development and achievements of our nation.

The program will also include examples of work and businesses from presenter Carl Shatley’s own family and others he’s encountered, illustrating the dedication and effort it takes to succeed through labor.

Register your attendance by contacting Crystal Pitman at 336.474.3644.

Carl Shatley is an accomplished educator, lecturer, and artist. He holds a Master of Arts degree in History from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Greensboro College.

*Staff will be available to talk through the details of health and financial qualifications for Piedmont Crossing with attendees.
